2012 Ghana’s most beautiful starts with glamour
This year’s TV3 most celebrated reality show, Ghana’s Most Beautiful started glamorously this evening as all ten contestants cruised their way in a Limousine from their place of abode to the event ground.
Diverse Ghanaian traditional culture was displayed by the National Dance Ensemble heralding their appearance on stage for the commencement of season six.
The ten striking Ghanaian beauties vying for the ultimate crown during their 13-week of showmanship include Ama, representing the Central Region, Bakoma – Upper East, Afiba – Western, Ameley – Greater Accra and Maalo – Upper West region.
The rest are Saha from the Northern region, Fosua – Brong Ahafo, Emefa – Volta, Eno from the Ashanti region and Afua from the Eastern region.
Traditional songstress, Sherifa Gunu thrilled the audience with her ‘Lala’ song and dedicated it also, to the memory of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, whose sudden death occurred at the 37 Military Hospital on July 24, 2012 in Accra.
The artiste wore a red and black combination with some fine African beads to match.
This year’s Ghana’s Most Beautiful theme focuses on women’s empowerment in their various local communities where they hail from and the country as a whole.
The winner of the 2011 edition, Salomey Akua Amoako Mensah urged the contestants to make the best out of this long running reality TV show.
According to her, it was designed to educate the youth on the possibilities of national development, hence the need to be dedicated, humble and tolerant towards each other.
Above all, she recommended prayer as the greatest tool for their success in all endeavours.
Out of the reality show, Akua has been able to set up a non-governmental organization, which caters for 36 street children.
